Those who still remember the impact of La Gioia will enjoy this poetic and musical journey through love, with the melancholy and longing of Portuguese fado
Amore is a musical and lyrical journey through an external landscape (Portugal, Angola and Cape Verde) and an inner one. The music is the melancholic sound of fado, bursting in energetic gusts through the singers’ voices until it reaches the farthest corners of the auditorium; the rhythm is that of a street parade, a vibrant altarpiece, a ceremonial procession; the image is one made up of shifting colours that warm and cool. Then there is the stage poetry, presented in the rich and hypnotic register of Pippo Delbono and his company. The words are those of the great historical poets of fado. An attempt, as always in Delbono’s work, made of music, voices and images, to bring life and dream onto the stage.
