Temporada Alta 2026: 35 editions working for culture
We reach our 35th edition of Temporada Alta with a diverse, high-quality programme that shows the festival is in excellent shape. This year, we present a total of 91 shows, 21 co-productions and 22 world premieres, 6 in Spain and 4 in Catalonia. We also celebrate the fact that, over these 35 editions, a total of 2,253 shows, 517 productions, 1,006 premieres and 1,302,620 spectators have passed through our stages. This edition, Temporada Alta will run from 3 October to 8 December, welcoming artists such as Christiane Jatahy, David Selvas, La Veronal, Eliades Ochoa, Pablo Messiez, Àngels Gonyalons, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Mariona Esplugues, Peeping Tom, Sergi López, Rocío Molina, Llàtzer Garcia, Pink Martini, Cristiana Morganti, Àngel Llàcer, Compañía Bonobo, Manuel Liñán, Victoria Szpunberg, Needcompany, Jordi Oriol, Baro d’evel, Martirio, Claudio Tolcachir, Àngel Duran, Piel de Lava, Irene Escolar, Mal Pelo, cabosanroque, Lolita Flores, Martin Zimmermann, Momi Maiga, Lluïsa Cunillé, Iván Ferreiro and Romeo Castellucci, among others.
The Playwriting Tournament reaches its sixteenth edition, while Llibràlegs returns, having already been revived last year: a theatre cycle in libraries, with texts by Marta Aran, Marta Buchaca, Pere Riera and Joan Yago.
This year’s sub-venues are: Banyoles, Figueres, Torroella de Montgrí, Sant Gregori, Bescanó and Palafrugell, with the addition of Maçanet de la Selva. The festival is making a strong commitment to young talent (creators under 35) with shows such as Boja (Mariona Esplugues), Cavitat F. (Alba Ramió i Güell), Un mal normal (Maria Jover and Gerard Franch), Alosa, A beginning #16161D (Aurora Bauzà and Pere Jou) and Mariona Escoda. Finally, the festival’s two audiovisual projects. La Caverna and the podcast Això no és un càsting will have a fourth season with new guests and new interviews and reflections.

The 2026 poster, by Baro d’Evel
Continuing its tradition of collaborating with renowned artists to design the festival poster, this year Temporada Alta has worked with Baró d’Evel, an internationally acclaimed circus company which has created an image born from a working process linked to matter, contrasts and the construction of visual imaginaries.
The proposal gives shape to a creature that emerged during the creation of the company’s latest show, a figure that ultimately remained off stage, but which opens up new lines of research within its artistic universe and perfectly expresses the scenic, aesthetic and thematic concerns that define the festival’s identity.
Who are Baro d’Evel?
Baró d’evel is a Franco-Catalan company founded by Camille Decourtye and Blaï Mateu Trias. A benchmark in contemporary European creation, it combines circus, physical theatre, dance, music, voice, visual arts and the presence of animals. Its importance lies in having expanded circus towards a hybrid, visual and radically singular stage poetics.
The company has appeared at Temporada Alta with Là (TA18), Bèsties and El ball (TA15), Mazut (TA12), Ï (TA11) and Le sort du dedans (TA09).
In this way, Baró d’evel joins an extensive list of personalities who have collaborated with the festival in creating its poster, including Antoni Tàpies, Cristina de Middel, Carles Santos, Carmen Calvo, Joan Fontcuberta, Eulàlia Valldosera, Narcís Comadira, Eugènia Balcells, Frederic Amat, Carme Sanglas, Enric Pladevall, Isabel Banal, cabosanroque and Ferran Adrià, among others.
La Caverna: fourth season
For the fourth consecutive year, we will have a new series of episodes of La Caverna, the festival’s audiovisual project in collaboration with Fundació La Caixa, in which major directors and creators from the European stage who have appeared at the festival talk with cultural figures chosen by the artists themselves. This fourth season will feature new guest artists, to be confirmed very soon. Once again, it will be available to watch free of charge on the CaixaForum+ platform and on the festival’s own channels.
Fourth season of Això no és un càsting, a podcast by Temporada Alta and Ràdio Primavera Sound
After three successful seasons, at Temporada Alta 2026 we wanted to continue the initiative and create a fourth season of Això no és un càsting, a podcast in collaboration with Ràdio Primavera Sound, presented by Paula Carreras and Marc Tarrida Aribau. In this fourth season, we will address new topics with new guests, to be confirmed very soon.
