Accessibility and functional diversity
At Temporada Alta, we work to ensure that more and more people can experience the festival and enjoy the performing arts independently and comfortably. To this end, we offer specific accessibility services, including hearing support systems, performances with audio description and surtitles, and reserved seating for people with reduced mobility. We list the available services on each show’s page. We also identify shows that, because of their language or format, may be particularly suitable for a wide range of audiences.
Hearing accessibility
Several of the festival venues (Teatre Municipal de Girona, Auditori de Girona, Auditori Teatre Espai Ter and Teatre Municipal El Jardí) offer services to help people with hearing difficulties enjoy the performances more comfortably.
Audio induction loop
The audio induction loop allows you to receive the sound from the performance directly through a compatible hearing aid or cochlear implant, reducing background noise. To use it, you need to switch the device to the T setting.
Amplified sound with headphones
The amplified sound service provides a receiver with headphones, allowing you to listen to the show at a higher volume. It is intended for people with hearing difficulties or who need the sound amplified. Please check the venue’s website for information on how to request this service free of charge.
100% accessible performances
We programme performances with additional accessibility measures so that a wider audience can share the same live experience.
These performances include audio description, surtitles, audio induction loop and amplified sound with headphones.
Accessibility for people with reduced mobility
The Festival’s official venues are adapted and accessible for people with reduced mobility. However, some performances may take place in unusual or non-conventional spaces where access may be more difficult.
To arrange the purchase of an adapted seat (reduced mobility), contact us at diversitatfuncional@bito.pro.
Visual shows
We offer dance, visual theatre, object theatre, circus, surtitled performances and other performing arts productions that use little or no spoken text, making them suitable for people with hearing difficulties.
Sound-based shows
At Temporada Alta, we also programme live music, sound-based performances, and theatre, dance and circus shows in which music plays a central role, making them particularly suitable for people with visual difficulties.
Surtitled shows
We provide surtitles for all performances staged in other languages and, as part of our commitment to internationalising the Catalan theatre scene, during the Big Bang we also provide surtitles in Spanish and English for performances by Catalan companies.
