Audiovisual projects

La Caverna is the audiovisual project of Temporada Alta and Fundació La Ciutat Invisible, with the collaboration of La Caixa Foundation. The proposal is a series of conversations between great directors and creators of the European scene who have passed through the festival with personalities from the world of culture chosen by themselves.

The series seeks to delve deeper into the creative process of these figures, their vision of the scene and review their careers. The performing arts are an ephemeral art. For this reason, Temporada Alta and Fundació La Ciutat Invisible, with initiatives like this, seek to leave an audiovisual memory of the most important creators who mark the contemporary theater scene.

Això no és un càsting is Temporada Alta’s podcast in Catalan, in collaboration with Radio Primavera Sound and sponsored by Parlem. Presented by journalist Paula Carreras and actor Marc Tarrida Aribau, the programme invites people involved in the performing arts to talk, without too many filters, about everything that happens on stage and also what goes on behind the scenes.

The series aims to bring the performing arts closer to the public in an informal, direct and accessible way. In each episode, the podcast addresses a different topic —from comedy to family theatre, from autofiction to theatre criticism, from new companies to the decision of leaving the profession— with guests who bring their experience, their own perspective and a willingness to speak.

Temporada Alta’s short films

The short films and spots of Temporada Alta are another way of introducing the festival, beyond the programme of shows. For many years, these small audiovisual pieces have served to present each edition from a fresh perspective, often using a cinematic format to play with humour, surprise or metaphor in order to talk about theatre and everything that surrounds it.

They are short stories that have helped build the festival’s imaginary world and engage very different audiences.

Through these pieces, we have also used audiovisual language to talk about the performing arts in an original and creative way; and for more than a decade they have acted as a starting point for the festival, generating a shared imaginary made up of characters, images and sensations.
