To say that Juana Dolores has a voice of her own is something of an understatement. After her dazzling arrival on the public and media scene thanks to the Amadeu Oller prize for her poetry collection Bijuteria, she immediately made her debut as a performer with this monologue, in which she asserts, without justification -that would be cowardly- a radical individuality in the face of the community and its herd mentality. A confession without veils, without filters, without apology, in which the vindication of Marilyn Monroe, the memory of Passolini and his uneasy Marxism, and the Andalusian roots of a daughter of economic migration all come together. It is also a defence of a mixed culture, free from prejudice. This is the attitude with which to approach this extreme experience of the “self”.
