The weight of maternal absence and the need to rebuild family bonds, in Ferran Joanmiquel’s new text
Three sisters meet at the family home after their mother’s death. The absence of their mother, who was a harsh and unaffectionate woman, is like a black hole that swallows everything. The sisters settle scores with one another beneath the starry sky of a summer night and realise, between gin and tonics, just how alone they have been in carrying a past that weighed heavily on them, and that from now on, if they want to face an uncertain future, they will have to support one another.
