The director Nicolas Stemann and the actor Philipp Hochmair make their festival debut with Goethe’s romantic myth
In 1774 Goethe published The Sorrows of Young Werther and inspired a wave of enraptured romanticism across Europa. In 2016 Nicolas Stemann and Philipp Hochmair set out to spark the same emotional tumult with an update of this tale of obsessive passion.
