The work in progress of Mal Pelo’s new stage creation

La mà i els temps is a research and creation project by Mal Pelo that offers a critical reading of four decades of artistic practice in the field of dance. It is born from the desire to listen to what the hands hold. For years, the body has spoken in dance; now it is the hands that claim their voice. This project seeks to record that invisible memory that dwells between gesture and thought, between the matter of the body and the pulse of time. The project reformulates the space-time pairing in a poetic and conceptual key: it replaces “space” with “hand” and “time” with “times”, inviting us to rethink movement from embodied experience. This gesture, both poetic and political, proposes looking at the body through its diversity and sensitivity. Hands do not merely execute: they think, remember, decide. They are archive, compass and language; extensions of thought, bearers of memory and cognitive tools of gesture. La mà i els temps interrogates the traces that culture has imprinted on our gestures. The divisions between fineness and strength, the delicate and the dynamic, have shaped not only trades, but also bodies. In artistic practice, dismantling these hierarchies becomes an act of resistance and freedom. La mà i els temps thus seeks to open up a space for reflection and creation where movement is thought through experience, memory and transformation.
