La Majordoma

The second text of The Epiphany Triptych by Josep Maria Miró
The second text of The Epiphany Triptych by Josep Maria Miró
A woman shows up at the apartment she fled from nearly three decades ago. She will reunite with her husband there. She abandoned him and their son the day before he turned four. Now she goes by “la Majordoma.” That’s what they call her in the small mountain town that has welcomed her all this time. La Majordoma has known power and the men who, driven by a desire to conquer it, are capable of ruthlessly destroying beauty, landscapes, and other people. The woman who returns is nothing like the one who left.
La Majordoma is the second text of the Tríptic de l’epifania, consisting of three works for a single performer that Josep Maria Miró began with El cos més bonic que s’haurà trobat mai en aquest lloc (TA21 / National Dramatic Literature Award). The three texts address the destruction of beauty and advocate for an essential theater where all its power lies in the word and the performer.
