The unsettling author Thomas Bernhard turns the rehearsal of a Schubert quintet into a comedy about power and failure
In the caravan of a circus company, the director Caribaldi has been forcing his artists to rehearse Schubert’s The Trout quintet for twenty-two years, without any success. He wants to turn a group of acrobats, clowns and animal trainers into virtuoso musicians, but his obsession with perfection reveals, above all, the violence of power and the force of habit. Ramon Simó directs this sharply acidic comedy, characteristic of Thomas Bernhard’s implacable style, with Lluís Marco leading the cast.
