Àngel Guimerà, the writer of Mar i cel, has become a talisman for Catalan musicals, such as in this case for La Barni Teatre and its adaptation of La filla del mar. The tragic story of Àgata, a girl who appears on the beaches of a village after surviving a shipwreck, has won many awards.
