Marta Barceló explores ageing, caregiving, death and family relationships.
After more than twenty years without sharing a roof, Eva, Marina, and Arnau must once again live together in the family home to accompany their mother in her final moments. Els darrers sis dies is a story that, in a luminous way and with a great sense of humor, addresses highly relevant issues such as the management of old age, the passage of time, family relationships, caregiving, and the ability to let go.
Written by Marta Barceló, the play tells the story of three siblings who face their mother’s last days, a process that shakes their lives and makes them reconsider their bonds and legacy. At the same time, the story highlights the precariousness of caregiving, often in the hands of older migrant women, and the debates around dependency and euthanasia. A luminous tale that invites reflection with emotion and sensitivity.
