A sustainable festival
Introduction
In line with always being connected with the times and current issues, from Temporada Alta we are working to be an increasingly sustainable festival, joining the fight against environmental impact.
For this reason, we have begun to take some measures with the aim of reducing the waste that Temporada Alta generates directly or indirectly, as well as promoting social inclusion and influencing consumption habits through small changes and initiatives.

Consumption reduction
To begin with, we have taken some measures in our offices, such as installing diffusers on the taps that save 40% of water or limiting the flushes in the toilets to save 20 liters per day. We have also replaced the work lights in both the offices and the Teatre de Salt with LEDs, which save between 60 and 65% of energy.
In addition, to save energy, electronic equipment is turned off when not in use and low-consumption equipment and devices are used to help reduce energy consumption.
Waste reduction
On the other hand, since 2020, we have reduced the number of copies of the festival magazine from 45,000 to 15,000. We have also adapted the hand-held programs so that, in their entirety, they only exist in their digital version. On the other hand, we have taken measures to reduce bureaucratic procedures that require the use of paper. For example, we have eliminated printed payrolls, and they are now available only in digital format. Similarly, we are making more extensive use of digital resources in our offices. When printing is essential, it is mostly done using recycled paper. All printers have been reconfigured so that operations are, by default, eco-efficient. And the toners used are recyclable. Finally, to properly manage waste, the use of single-use plastic has been minimized by installing water fountains in the facilities directly managed by the festival. In these spaces, waste classification containers have also been placed with the aim of promoting the selective collection of materials.

Proximity and hospitality policy
One of the characteristics of Temporada Alta has always been the use of local venues (Girona and Salt) to avoid the need for large parts of our audience to travel. Recently, we have also increased the number of sub-venues, bringing successful shows to other parts of the province. We also have local suppliers and a hospitality policy with companies where we control that they do not waste products or generate unnecessary waste.
