And Toni knows this perfectly well. His father has just died, but this won’t be the only bad news for his family: they don’t have the money to pay the funeral. Toni doesn’t know how to explain the situation to his mother, Aurèlia, and, with the complicity of his daughter Emma, he tries to carry out the only plan he can think of: burying his father on his own.
“Mesures extraordinàries” (Extraordinary Measures) denounces, with humor and naturalism, how hard it is to die. It also speaks about dignity. About the legacy our parents leave us and how we give back to them what they have given us. About rituals, their importance to society, and how they unite families, no matter what their circumstances.
A humorous reflection on death, on the differences between young and old when it comes to facing it, and on the importance of saying goodbye.
