La Veronal and Marcos Morau transform Rodoreda’s La mort i la primavera into a ritual of poetic dance between tragedy and resistance
The company La Veronal (Sonoma, TA24, and TA21), led by the award-winning choreographer Marcos Morau —2013 National Dance Award—, presents La mort i la primavera, a stage adaptation of Mercè Rodoreda’s posthumous novel. With live music by Maria Arnal and a sensory scenography, the performance unfolds a tapestry of gestures and bodies inhabiting a dark and spiritual universe. The production, premiered at the Venice Biennale, is an allegory of the creation-destruction cycle, creative freedom, and solidarity.
