Josep Maria Pou brings Roald Dahl to life in an intense drama about words, power, and the limits of freedom of expression
In 1983, Roald Dahl —author of Matilda and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory— published a highly critical article about Israel that sparked a major controversy. Gegant, a play by Mark Rosenblatt acclaimed in the West End, revisits that controversy with daring and sharp dramaturgy. Josep Maria Pou embodies the writer in a dialectical duel that questions the power of words, cancel culture, the limits of freedom, and the public responsibility of the artist. A piece of high intensity and absolute relevance.
