Bàrbara Mestanza analyzes cancel culture from a gender perspective
After Sucia and Lacrimosa, actress and creator Bàrbara Mestanza presents Foc, a show that reflects and debates cancel culture and the future after this new wave of feminism.
The play is a treatise on guilt, the guilt carried by those who have caused so much harm and the guilt carried by those who, as victims, dared to point out injustice and fight it. A debate about good and evil in a time when what was once considered good for many is now seen as something to criminalize.
Is it possible to change people without punishment? Is it possible to achieve an equal world without getting our hands dirty? Who will we be after this struggle? What will remain?
Through the protagonist’s internal debate and the one she will be publicly subjected to, we will accompany her through the personal underworld that will lead her to madness.
