De Sheherazade narrates in twelve scenes the experiences of a woman who seeks to fix in the world the philosophical principles of feminine singularity. Twelve moments to apprehend the thread of light that fleetingly crosses human emotions. The fine thread of life.

Experience and knowledge guide the character’s evolution. They also define the feminine mythologies that are extracted and derived from him. In the intimate folds of De Sheherazade, the wise woman of Sheherazade, Carmen, Medea, Wallada, Sappho, or more contemporary literary characters such as Lorca’s Yerma, Blimunda José Saramago or García Márquez’s Úrsula Iguarán coexist without complexes. Women, bridges, dreams and memory.

A passion for intelligence in a suspended time. How to count a thousand and one nights in twelve choreographies?

The action takes place in suspended time, awaiting death and salvation. There is no clock capable of measuring this temporality of water. We are at the heart of the empire of emotions and the imaginary.

The active waiting is spread over eleven moments that unfold over eleven nights marked by the movement of the moon from its appearance in the sky to its setting. The tension is resolved at dawn on the twelfth day.

The work brings together in a single choreographic cycle, interpreting the biblical ehad, the vocation of transcendence of desire. This is a process in which the birth, development and culmination of the feminine imaginary converge on the road to inhabiting the place that corresponds to her in life. The woman’s endeavour in this eternal quest is to achieve the organicity of desire as a balanced way of being in the world.

In De Sheherazade, love is not consolation, but light. It is a horizon and a path towards a life whose vocation is the ethical responsibility of the self and the us. The work vindicates femininity as a moral commitment to the polyhedricity of women’s nature, which is nothing other than the extension of human diversity.
