The ambassadors of gospel arrive to Europe
Chicago Mass Choir, known worldwide as the ambassadors of gospel, returns to European stages with a concert that is a gospel-style tribute to the city of Chicago.
There, around figures like Thomas A. Dorsey, Roberta Martin, Mahalia Jackson, The Caravans, and the churches of Chicago’s South Side, the music that would become the soundtrack of the European Christmas season was born and experienced its golden age.
“Sweet Home Chicago”, the new production of Grandes del Gospel starring Chicago Mass Choir, revisits the classics that, in the 1930s, 40s, and 50s, created a genre that—originating in the Black neighborhoods of the United States—has gone on to move and inspire audiences all over the world.
