With Cavallet de mar, Pau Coya has established himself as a breakout author with a brave and vibrant monologue. Martí, a twenty-year-old trans boy, faces an unexpected pregnancy during his hormonal transition. While deciding what to do, he reflects aloud on his relationship with his body, social pressure, and gender conventions. Directed by Rebeca Del Fresno and performed by Marc Torres Quintana, the play has been awarded at the Critics’ Awards and the Mostra Igualada. A piece that claims, with sensitivity and irony, the complexity of trans experiences.
