T de Teatre returns with a bittersweet comedy about family ties, secrets, and the ever-fragile idea of normality
After a month in a psychiatric clinic, Llum returns home, determined to be reunited with her sisters Lola and Bibiana. Llum dreams of going with them to her childhood home, where the walls still beat with memories of her grandmother Puri. To celebrate her discharge, her sisters organise a dinner party, but the family ghosts soon appear: Bibiana struggles with alcoholism while her husband, Miguel – an indebted and unemployed accountant – hides his failure. Lola, trapped in a loveless marriage to Gerard, a struggling tenement owner, keeps a secret. The evening is complicated by the arrival of Oltra, Llum’s eccentric friend who has escaped from the clinic with a stolen stamp, convinced that she is living in a film.
When this family gets together, there is always someone who ends up crying. But this time it will be different: Oltra has decided that her friend must not suffer any more, and Llum, for her part, has sworn not to shed any tears. Between drinks, whispers and shouted confessions, secrets will burst out and the sisters will discover that sometimes sanity consists of rebelling against what hurts the most.
