For the very first time ever, Temporada Alta and APTIC (the Association of Professional Translators and Interpreters of Catalonia) are working together to offer this activity within the festival program. This course is to be given by Carlota Gurt, a member of APTIC and the subtitling coordinator at Temporada Alta. The course is directed towards experienced translators who wish to amplify their skills and take their first steps in the world of theatrical subtitling. This introductory course deals with both general and technical aspects and the basic guidelines to follow. Specific examples will be studied and some of the more controversial questions such as how to deal with rhymes, specialised or extremely refined language will be discussed.
