with the support of the Iberescena International Programme
Over the years, Temporada Alta has become one of our country’s main access routes for Ibero-American productions. From the very beginning of the international programme, the festival has striven to provide a platform for the most interesting projects from the other side of the Atlantic. Writers, directors and actors that have captivated spectators and developed a loyal following from members of the Temporada Alta audiences. This year, we wanted to go a step further and create a series exclusively dedicated to Ibero-American works with the support of the Iberescena International Programme. The objective is to offer a selection of the performances pieces that have been produced in Latin America, showcasing a broad range of countries and artists, for audiences interested in discovering new forms and ways of creating theatre. The programme includes 5 productions from 4 countries (Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina).
The productions included in the series are as follows: ‘Julia’ by Christiane Jatahy (12th October) – Brazil; ‘Bienvenido a casa’ by Roberto Suárez (2nd October) – Uruguay; ‘Fauna’ by Romina Paula (21st and 22nd November), Montserrat by Lagartijas tiradas al sol and ‘Cineastas’ by Mariano Pensotti (24th November) – Argentina. Two of these pieces, ‘Fauna’ and ‘Cineastas’, have been included by the Festival as part of the Programmers’ Convention with the aim of facilitating the mobility of these productions.
