2nd Catalan Play Writing Week

Readings of theatrical texts open and free

For the second year in a row, the dramatists’ association, Barcelona Playwrights (Marilia Samper, Pau Miró, Guillem Clua, Marc Rosich, Cristina Clemente, David Plana, Llàtzer Garcia, Marta Buchaca and Marc Angelet), under the direction of Jordi Casanovas, have organised the Play Writing Week in Girona. An activity within Temporada Alta that aims to encourage theatrical writing in our country. 

The operation is simple: for a few days professionals get together and work on a specific topic behind closed doors (this year, biographical theatre), but in the evening the event will be open to the the general public with free readings from some of the pieces worked on during the day. This year is the turn of David Plana, who will present the reading El bon pare, and Jordi Casanovas, who will let the public have a taster of his piece Pujol president (first part). The shows An Old Monk, by Josse De Pauw, and El matrimoni de Maria Braun, by Thomas Ostermeier, also form part of this week focused on biographical theatre.
