The huge hit by Yasmina Reza, Art, is one of the most translated contemporary comedies and one of the first Spanish premieres confirmed for Temporada Alta 2016.
This is an intelligent and energetic comedy, adapted by Jordi Galceran and directed by Miquel Gorriz, about art and the value of friendship. The relationship between the three characters, played by Peter Arquillué, Francesc Orella and Luís Villanueva, starts to wobble as a result of a discussion that arises when commenting on a picture painted in white. Starting from tomorrow, you can buy tickets for the three performances being held at the Teatre Municipal on 8th and 9th October.
Also going on sale tomorrow are the advanced bookings of tickets for two other theatrical events from the Festival programme: Les benignes (The Kindly Ones) directed by the Belgian director Guy Cassiers, from the book of the same name by Jonathan Littell (Teatre Municipal in Girona, 19th and 20th November) and the musical for all ages El petit príncep (The little Prince), by Àngel Llàcer and Manu Guix (Auditori of Girona, 16th October), for which all seats sold out last year. For this latter show, a discounted family pass will go on sale which includes 2 adult tickets and 2 children’s tickets.
The show Les benignes is a co-production of Temporada Alta with 6 theatres, festivals and European institutions, including in The Littell project funded by the European Union (Creative Europe). Last year, the Festival introduced the El sec il’humit, also directed by Cassiers, the first work that formed part of this project focusing on the work of Jonathan Littell, a French-American author living in Barcelona.
