La gran belleza

In Rome, during the summer, decadent nobles, social climbers, politicians, high-flying criminals, journalists, actors, prelates, artists and intellectuals weave a web of inconsistent relationships that take place in sumptuous palaces and villas. The center of all the meetings is Jep Gambardella (Toni Servillo), a 65-year-old writer who has written only one book and practices journalism. Dominated by indolence and boredom, he attends this parade of powerful but insubstantial, empty and depressing characters.
