For more than a decade, we have been taking Temporada Alta to different Latin American cities. As a result of this initiative we have become a point of connection between Europe and Latin America. We travel to Buenos Aires, Montevideo and Lima to open up new channels to showcase Catalan companies and publicise the country\u2019s performing arts. Due to our interest in the internationalisation of the Catalan scene, we have exported the Festival to stages in Argentina, Peru and Uruguay. We have put on over a hundred performances and artists such as Sergi L\u00f3pez, Iv\u00e1n Morales, Xavier Bob\u00e9s, Lali Ayguad\u00e9, Pere Faura, Baro d\u2019Evel Cirk and many others have been able to present their creations.<\/em><\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The XIII edition of Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e8rica presents more than 30 performances from up to 10 different countries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e8rica continues to showcase the Catalan performing arts scene across the Atlantic, with a programme of more than 30 performances from up to 10 countries, running from 2 February to 16 March in Lima (Per\u00fa), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguai). With the collaboration of l\u2019Institut Ramon Llull, the festival maintains its role as an exporter, presenting this year two productions that can be seen in all three participating countries: Las palabras de los otros<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, by Roger Torns, and No sabemos nada del campo<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, by Cl\u00e0udia Serrahima Urgell. Finally, Temporada Alta a Iberoam\u00e8rica will also host the Torneig de Dramat\u00fargia Transatl\u00e0ntic<\/strong> in Buenos Aires, where authors from both sides of the Atlantic will go head-to-head. The Catalan representatives will be: Jaume Vi\u00f1as and Martina Cabanas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The XII edition of Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e8rica presents 30 shows from up to 10 different countries<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temporada Alta Iberoamerica continues to strive to bring the Catalan scene to the other side of the Atlantic, presenting a programme of more than 30 shows from up to 10 countries, between 30 January and 2 March in Lima (Peru), Buenos Aires (Argentina) and Montevideo (Uruguay). The festival, with the collaboration of the Ramon Llull Institute, has maintained its role as exporter by presenting three proposals this year, which could be seen in the three participating countries: En mitad de tanto fuego<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, by Alberto Conejero and directed by Xavier Albert\u00ed with Rub\u00e9n de Egu\u00eda as the protagonist, A fuego<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, by Pablo Macho Otero, and Las penas del joven Werther<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, by Miquel Mas Fiol with Miel Salvatierra. The Transatlantic Playwriting Tournament was also held in Buenos Aires, where authors from the two continents competed. The Catalan representatives were: Sergio Baos and Lali \u00c1lvarez Garriga.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The XI edition of Temporada Alta Iberoamerica presents more than 20 shows from up to 9 different countries from February 1st to March 5th<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temporada Alta Iberoamerica closes with triple of the number of spectators from last year, exceeding over 8,600. Co-organized by the Institut Ramon Llull, Temporada Alta Iberoamerica maintains its role as exporter by sending the three participating countries to represent themselves this year: Ma solitud<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Guillem Alb\u00e0, Loco amoris<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Pablo Macho and Pau Roca and 360 grams<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by Ada Vilar\u00f3. Within the programme, there will also be a fourth proposal: Cuerpos celestes<\/em><\/strong><\/a> by El Conde de Torrefiel and cabosanroque. A sound experience that is part of a series of audio guides that can be heard for free on the Caixaforum+ platform. Finally, the Transatlantic Playwriting Tournament, with the support of the SGAE Foundation, will have a new edition, where Argentine authors will face off against the Catalans Xavi Buxeda and Carla Rovira. Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e9rica<\/strong> returns to presencial shows by presenting 20 shows, after last year\u2019s hybrid edition<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e9rica closes a new edition in which an effort has been made to get back presencial shows attendance, after the previous hybrid edition due to the consequences of the pandemic. The festival has presented a program with 20 different shows, from 9 European and Latin American nationalities, and close to 50 performances, which could be seen between February 2 and March 6. In this edition, 3 Catalan companies have presented their shows: Livalone<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Francesc Cu\u00e9llar and Alejandro Curiel, Pocahontas o la verdadera historia de una traviesa<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by B\u00e0rbara Mestanza and Se respira en el jard\u00edn como en un bosque<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by Conde de Torrefiel. Timbre 4 in Buenos Aires has once again hosted Torneo de dramaturgia Transatl\u00e1ntico<\/strong><\/em><\/a>, in this 10th edition in which the Catalan artist Lara D\u00edez has been proclaimed the winner with Khwam Sukh Sarmiento<\/em>, the story of a couple expecting a child and sharing secrets that never been told before. Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e9rica closes a special edition due to the effects of the pandemic with the incorporation of a line of remote programmation and more than 8.000 spectators. The festival has been celebrated from the 3 until the 28 of February in the cities of  Buenos Aires, Lima and Montevideo. There, around twenty proposals of theater, contemporary dance, circus, audiovisual narratives, new dramaturgy and conferences from eleven European and Lationamerican nationalities have been performanced. This year, we have had Catalan productions, such as Audiogu\u00eda para supermercados en tiempo de pandemia<\/strong><\/em> of Cabosanroque, the Zoom by Anna Alarc\u00f3n with the text Psicosis de las 4.48<\/strong>,<\/em> from Sarah Kane, <\/em>or the Zoom of Ivan Benet  Informe para una Academia, <\/em><\/strong>by <\/em>Fran Kafka. The Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament <\/em><\/strong>has also been celebrated, with Lucas Ranzani as a winner. Besides the Catalan productions, other proposals from Xile, Col\u00f2mbia, France, Germany and Italy have also been chosen, apart from the ones of the host nationalities: Argentina, Per\u00fa and Uruguay. 2020<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The eighth edition of Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e9rica presents more than twenty proposals in Buenos Aires, Lima and Montevideo from 1 until 21 of February<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eighth edition of Temporada Alta Iberoamerica presents more than 60 representations of 21 different shows. Last year was the first time that a own production took the leap to Iberoamerica. It was Tierra baja with Llu\u00eds Homar. This year the formula has been repeated with Kassandra<\/em><\/strong>, co-produced with TNC. In the Iberoamerican edition the spectators will also be able to see A.K.A (Also Known As) <\/em><\/strong>with Albert Salazar as the main character, Hasta agotar existencias (Ensayando para que la muerte de mi madre no me pille desprevenida)<\/em><\/strong> of Veronica Navas Ram\u00edrez and Parias<\/em><\/strong>, the last production of Javier Aranda. Also, a new edition of the Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament<\/em><\/strong>  will be celebrated. There, the finalist and semifinalist of the Catalan Dramaturgy Tournement, Laura Gost and Concha Milla, will be confronted with two argentine playwrights. 2019<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Temporada Alta Iberoam\u00e9rica has closed the 2019 edition with around 7.400 spectators and the 78% of occupation <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The seventh edition has incorporated a total of 81 functions, 33 of which correspond to catalan productions and to the Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament, with more than 2.000 spectators and the colaboration of the highschool Ramon Llull. Temporada Alta from Buenos Aires has gained a 100% of occupation with Terra Baixa, Cases, Calma! and Vida<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The catalan playwright Cristina Clemente, who won the Catalan Dramaturgy Tournament from the Festival of Girona, has confronted Andrea Marranazi and has won the Transatlantic Tournament. The public has proclaimed as a winner the text of Clemente Las lentes para mirar cargadores,<\/em> wich was confronted with the one of Marranazi Nacer y Morir<\/em>. This year has been the first which the participants from Argentina have been able to access the Transatlantic Tournament thanks to the fact that they previously won a tournament between autors from Argentina celebrated on december 2018. Check the schedule for the 2019 edition at this link. <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2018<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We maintain the sustained growth figures (1 to 25 February)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hold the sixth event with 64 performances, 22 of which correspond to the 3 Catalan productions we present at Temporada Alta Latin America: Psicosis de les 4.48<\/em> by Sarah Kane, a hard-hitting text about suicide performed by Anna Alarc\u00f3n, the winner of the 2016 BBVA Theatre Award. Indomador<\/em> by the contemporary circus company Animal Religion, a dialogue between Quim Gir\u00f3n and human animality. And Pluja<\/em>, the musical and poetic spectacle by Guillem Alb\u00e0 and Clara Peya.
The sixth Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament brings together the winner and runner-up of the Catalan competition (Laia Alsina and Xisco Rossell\u00f3) and two Argentine authors chosen by the Chair of Dramaturgy at the University in the Argentine capital. With the participation of proposals from Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Israel, France, Argentina and Brazil, we achieve the figure of 7,711 spectators (1,300 more than the previous year) and we maintain the positive evolution in terms of the number of spectators and their loyalty.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2017<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We establish ourselves as a summer festival in Latin America (5 to 22 February)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

17 shows (including three Catalan and Balearic productions of text theatre and contemporary creation), 74 performances, a fifth Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament and a comprehensive programme of talks and parallel activities. We establish Temporada Alta Latin America as a summer festival in Argentina, Uruguay and Peru.
In this, the fifth year, we visit the other side of the Atlantic with three monologues that are outstanding in terms of their literary quality and the themes they cover: La Hist\u00f3ria del Sr. Sommer<\/em> by Pep Tosar, Acorar<\/em> by Toni Gomila and La noche justo antes de los bosques<\/em> by \u00d2scar Mu\u00f1oz. The Catalan and Balearic programming is complemented by proposals from 6 countries: Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Peru, France and Argentina. After three weeks of performances we are visited by more than 6,300 spectators. Over the last 5 years, 28 Catalan and Balearic shows have been seen in different Latin American settings, attracting around 19,000 spectators.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2016<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our expansion continues (29 January to 18 February)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the fourth Temporada Alta Latin America we incorporate the theatre of the Alliance Francaise in Lima as the third sub-venue. Ivan Benet, Baro d\u2019Evel and David Espinosa are the Catalan artists invited to an event which, for the first time, complements the Catalan programming with proposals from other countries: Mexico, Chile, Uruguay, Peru and Argentina. The other new feature is The One Project, the project unifying cinema and drama premi\u00e8red at the Arts Santa M\u00f2nica and Temporada Alta. The Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament is held for the fourth time and Temporada Alta Latin America puts on 51 performances accompanied by talks, workshops and other parallel activities.
We continue to break records this year. We are visited by around 4,500 spectators, the parallel activities attract more than 800 participants and we establish ourselves as a meeting point for Catalan and Latin American drama. This is made possible by the Ramon Llull Institute, Acci\u00f3n Cultural Espa\u00f1ola (AC\/E), the AECID and the Network of Spanish Cultural Centres (Cooperaci\u00f3n Espa\u00f1ola), as well as the different theatres which host us in Argentina, Peru and Uruguay.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2015<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We increase the number of Latin American venues (27 January to 11 February)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2015 we increase the offer, due to the large audiences and favourable reviews in previous years. We schedule almost twice the number of performances and extend the length of the cycle. The other new feature is the scheduling of shows in Montevideo, with performances at two of the main venues in the city, the Solis Theatre and the Verdi Hall. The Temporada Alta Buenos Aires programme retains the Timbre 4 Hall location. The goal is to turn the Autumn Festival of Catalonia into a platform for the internationalisation of Catalan dramaturgy. An initiative which receives the support of the Ramon Llull Institute and the Acci\u00f3n Cultural Espa\u00f1ola programme.
Apart from another Transatlantic Dramaturgy Tournament, bringing together Catalan, Argentine and Peruvian playwrights, four shows can be seen over almost three weeks: Non Solum<\/em> by Sergi L\u00f3pez, Con la claridad aumenta el fr\u00edo<\/em> by Pep Tosar, La cabeza en las nubes<\/em> by Xavier Bob\u00e9s and Constructivo<\/em> by Ernesto Collado and Piero Steiner.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

2014<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The second Temporada Alta in Buenos Aires (2 to 9 February)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We hold the second Temporada Alta Buenos Aires, with an excellent response from the critics and general public. We maintain the Timbre 4 Hall venue and schedule 14 performances. Practically 100% of the tickets are sold. 30\/40 Livingstone<\/em> by Sergi L\u00f3pez and Jordi Pic\u00f3 and S\u00e9 de un lugar<\/em> by Iv\u00e1n Morales \u2013 Prisamata have to put on extra performances as the tickets sell out rapidly. In addition, the dual dance programme by Lali Ayguad\u00e9 (Portland<\/em> and Inc\u00f3gnito<\/em>) also registers excellent ticket sales (80%). A further Dramaturgy Tournament is held and the classic Vinilo caf\u00e9 in Buenos Aires is the venue for a concert by singer and pianist Maria Coma.
The success of the second Temporada Alta Buenos Aires consolidates our wish to introduce Catalan theatre productions to the Argentine public and our desire to become a platform for the internationalisation of Catalan dramaturgy and theatrical productions.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

We visit Buenos Aires for the first time (11 to 17 February)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We begin our relationship with Buenos Aires at the Timbre 4 Hall, under the direction of Claudio Tolcachir, with three Catalan productions, a version of the Dramaturgy Tournament and a workshop conducted by Xavier Bob\u00e9s. With this initiative we endorse our aim to work together on the internationalisation of the Catalan scene.
Temporada Alta Buenos Aires enjoys the support of the Ramon Llull Institute and puts on three shows: Insomni<\/em> by Xavier Bob\u00e9s, Non Solum<\/em> by Sergi L\u00f3pez and Jorge Pic\u00f3 and Striptease<\/em> by Pere Faura. The Catalan week is completed with a version of the Dramaturgy Tournament organised during the Festival which, in this case, brings together David Plana and Jordi Galceran, the winning authors of the two Catalan tournaments, and two Argentine playwrights, Diego Faturos and Francisco Lumerman.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
