The dancer and choreographer Sol Picó <\/strong>takes charge of getting this year’s Temporada Alta <\/strong>up and running, with the Festival having a stronger international focus. She gets things underway at the small La Planeta venue in Girona, on 3rd<\/sup>October, with her new production ‘One-hit wonders<\/strong><\/a>’.This world premiere, a co-production with the Festival, will be followed up by 90 other performances over a period of just over two months, with a programme that strikes a balance between productions of new performances (27 in all), the promotion of Catalan artistic projects (52 productions), involvement with contemporary creation (26 performances) and the premiere of the best international productions in our country(21 premieres from 19 different countries). As a result, venues in Salt, Girona and the metropolitan area will be filled with theatre and dance, which has been reinforced, as well as circus, music, family performances, cinema (which joined the Festival last year) and multidisciplinary productions, to provide a showcase that gives artistic creations greater international projection year on year and consolidates Temporada Alta’s status as one of the country’s leading festivals.<\/p>\n


\n <\/p>\n

In short, the Festival is strengthening its regular programming features and striving to develop and extend new collaborations with Catalan theatres, companies and producers<\/strong> – this year’s edition is co-produced with Focus and the Sala Àtrium, among others. At the same time, the Festival is reinforcing relations with other European festivals<\/strong> in terms of attracting new productions, the connection with Ibero-America<\/strong>, productions by Catalan artists<\/strong> and young playwrights<\/strong> from around the country – with new projects of its own – andcontemporary creation<\/strong>, while also consolidating the programming of cinema events <\/strong>and family productions<\/strong>, and placing greater value on the musical aspects<\/strong> of the programme.<\/p>\n

The broad programme presented boasts the majority of the great international figures of contemporary performance arts (Peter Brook<\/a>, Krystian Lupa<\/a>, Alain Platel<\/a>, Christoph Marthaler<\/a>, Brett Bailey<\/a>, Romeo Castellucci<\/a>, Jan Fabre<\/a>, Christiane Jatahy<\/a><\/strong>, etc.), alongside a selection of the most internationally renowned Spanish artists (Angélica Liddell<\/a>, María Pagés<\/a>, Israel Galván<\/a><\/strong>, etc.) and premieres by some of the countries best artists, co-produced by the Festival (Lluís Homar<\/a>, Carme Portaceli<\/a>, Josep Maria Pou<\/a>, Sol Picó<\/a>, Jordi Casanovas<\/a><\/strong>, Pau Miró<\/a>, Magda Puyo<\/a><\/strong>, etc).
