In total, we\u2019ve announced 97 shows, including international programming (20), Catalan authors (58) and contemporary creation (26). With all audiences in mind and to enable everyone to find the spectacle they\u2019re looking for, we\u2019ve presented proposals from different genres and fields, with drama, music, family shows, circus, dance, films and so on.<\/p>\n<p>On 5 October we will open the Festival with <strong><em>Isabella\u2019s room<\/em> <\/strong>by <strong>Jan Lauwers &amp; Needcompany<\/strong>, a work which has revolutionized 21st-century drama.<\/p>\n<p>One of the main attractions this year will be the international co-productions: <strong><em>La petite fille de Monsieur Linh<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Philippe Claudel<\/strong>, directed by <strong>Guy Cassiers<\/strong> with <strong>Llu\u00eds Homar<\/strong>, <strong><em>L\u2019omissi\u00f3 de la fam\u00edlia Coleman<\/em><\/strong>, directed by <strong>Claudio Tolcachir<\/strong> with a Catalan cast, and <strong><em>Uncanny Valley<\/em><\/strong> by <strong>Rimini Protokoll<\/strong>, with the executive production of the M\u00fcnchner Kammerspiele.<\/p>\n<p>We will also support national talent with shows by renowned artists and dramatists such as <strong>Carol L\u00f3pez, Cl\u00e0udia Rovira, Ang\u00e8lica Liddell, Marc Artigau, Cl\u00e0udia Ced\u00f3, Cristina Clemente, Marilia Samper, Joan Yago, Toni Gomila, Ivan Morales, Carla Torres, Daniela Feixas, Ivan Benet, Ferran Joanmiquel, Ll\u00e0tzer Garcia, Marc Angelet<\/strong> and <strong>Marta Buchaca<\/strong>, while we have lined up an important international programme with leading stage names like <strong>Thomas Ostermeier, la companyia 1927, Oskaras Korsunovas, Alain Platel, Jan Lauwers &amp; Needcompany, Jan Fabre, Cristiana Morganti, Benjamin Laza<\/strong>r and <strong>Slava Polunin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>We continue to support the programming of contemporary creation proposals, most of which can be seen during the <strong>Programmers\u2019 Week<\/strong>. Throughout the Festival we will be visited by household names in contemporary creation from at home and abroad, including <strong>Bar\u00f2 d\u2019Evel, \u00c0lex Rigola, Lali Ayguad\u00e9, Agnes Mateus and Quim Tarrida, Rimini Protokoll, Jan Fabre <\/strong>and <strong>Ni\u00f1o de Elche<\/strong>. We have also chosen leading names for our musical programme, such as <strong>Rosario, Albert Pla, Maria Arnal and Marcel Bag\u00e9s, Jay-Jay Johanson, Ni\u00f1o de Elche, La nit dels Sopa II, Clara Peya <\/strong>and<strong> S\u00edlvia P\u00e9rez Cruz &amp; Marco Mezquida. <\/strong><\/p>\n<h4>Temporada Alta, in support of freedom of expression<\/h4>\n<p>This year we will highlight and express our support for freedom of expression, seeking to provide an open door for any discordant voices which are sometimes silenced. We have therefore scheduled <strong><em>Calla, Hamlet, Calla<\/em><\/strong>, in which a group of young creators, coordinated by <strong>Carla Rovira Pitarch<\/strong>, address freedom of expression, a burning issue, in a reflection based on the famous <em>To be or not to be<\/em> monologue from Shakespeare\u2019s <em>Hamlet<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Temporada Alta 2018 will seek to express its support for freedom of expression and, at the same time, provide an open door for any discordant voices which are sometimes silenced.
